my friend has a raptor and he wants me to set it up for the drags. so i should have soem info later on. if you have something i can start on let me know.


maybe it will turn out like the DS. i will leave it stock bore unless it needs to be bored.

Glad to see you working on one. You'll be one more person that might get some hidden horses out of it. Becarefull after you see its potential you'll be talking to your local Yamaha stealer about a trade.

i will not be trading. i will do my best to get all the HP out of it. it will be a low budget motor. the guy doesn't hav emuch money.



How strong is the stock piston? do i need to get him another one?

The stock piston is the first thing I would replace (It's way to heavy). If you want to make this thing go fast you need to completely understand how the 5 valve motor works. The key in making the rappy fast has everything to do with the headwork preformed on it, backed up with the proper lobe center on the cam.
