grizz660 ext. warranty
#1
i'm just wondering if anyone knows what mods will void the warranty such as the reverse limiter mod and the HL performance kit with the jet, filter, pipe, etc. I dont want to do anything that will void it. Does it make a difference if i have the dealer install the kit??

The most important thing to ask...is ask the dealer. My dealer will not void the warranty unless i do MAJOR engine mods. Then again....a couple of beers and a sauna, and he would STILL fix my bike. LOL
It really depends on your dealer. They are the ones that have to tell yamaha what, if anything, was "your fault" or defect. If you have a good dealer, they will let you do anything to your bike and still claim it under warranty. They still get paid...just takes a little longer

Frog makes a good point about each dealer having different standards.
Mine told me no high compression piston, cam, valve jobs, and porting.
But was ok to rejet, change muffler, lift kit, just nothing to radical. I believe that they would have to prove that what you did caused the failure to deny a calim on your warranty but they could be stubborn about it then comes the lawyers and who needs that hassel.
