I'm shopping for used Kodiak or Foreman in the 98 - 00 range. What is considered "normal" and "high" mileage.

Anything under 1000 is low mileage, 1000-2000 is medium and over 3000 is high. If the machine is well maintained mileage could be a minimil factor in your purchase. Look for mud under the gas tank and other places it is hard to clean. look for deep scratches and dents. Don't be afraid to ask where they came from.
One little trick I was taught is when you take it for a test drive come to a dead stop and let off the throttle then punch it all the way to the bar for like two seconds. If it starts to die out or bog down it could mean a dirt carb or valves being out of adjustment, these are easy fixes but it can tell you that the machine hasn't been maintained very well.

This is just my .02 cents and it's what I look for when buying a used machine.
