39FCR vs. 41FCR vs. Qwicksilver vs. Lectron vs. Modded stock
#1
Here is the background. Currently a 440ex. Soon to be 465ex. Ride mostly in the dunes now. I'm open to running alky too. I would like to keep it as cool as possible. I've already added a Pingry +1 qt. oil tank and have a CBR 600 oil color and 250R radiator shrouds ready to go on. I've been running a modded stocker for 3 years and it runs great but I built it to race on tight stadium tracks in the midwest where bottom end and instant response was key. I now want max hp and more top end. I'm gonna have Sparks do my work but I want to know what experiences you guys have had? Thanks in advance. -RT

If your just runnng the dunes go for the BOOZE. It will run alot cooler and the carbs will need to be modded nomatter which one you choose. If your having Sparks build it, I would get his advice before I spent any other money.
Just my thoughts,

There is no special boring or mods needed to run alky in a FCR carb. Just jet it up and have fun. That is one of the nice things about the FCR.....if you don't like the booze jet er back down to run the petrol. 2-strokes don't have this option.

pudjumper,
How does your 465 run? How does it compare to other modded ex's you've been on? Have you had it set up on alky before? If so, what are the performance gains? If you run high compression, how does that effect your decision to run methanol? [ I'm @ 12:1 ] That ought to keep you busy for a while!
