Well my 650 has let me down again! The 4wd quit working. First it got stuck in 4wd. The display said it was in 2wd, but it was stuck in 4wd. I cut it off, put it in high range, & rocked it back & forth. This got it to come out of 4wd. But now it will not go back in & the display stays on 2wd no matter what. Luckily it is still under warranty. So, just to recap the problems I have had. 1: Belt slipping. 2: Choke plungers stuck. 3: No 4wd. I have went from loving this quad, to just liking it. It is still my first choice, but if this continues, I will have to take a power loss for reliability. Sad, but true!

Sorry to hear about your 650 being unfaithful.

It's probably the actuator. Hopefully not the controller.

Good thing it is under warranty. I would not want to mess with that thing.

The actuator is completely easy to test, but because of it's simplicity, it needs that computerized brain box to make it work right.

Can you put seperate power to the actuator to see if it is working sometimes the electric motor can jam. At least try it but since you have warantee don't mess with it or risk voiding any and all warantees not much help hey! Maybe be a small hammer just tap in the right location a, little just a little now.

It is still at shop. No word yet on the problem. I will keep yall posted on the outcome. I will be sure to go around mud holes & water in the future. It is a shame to have to do that. Why even make it a 4wd if you can't get it wet.

I was thinking about replacing my 500i with a P650 too. Is there one quad out there that is reliable? I just want a quad that will go and go and go.

bbertram, the 650 is one reliable machine. there is always some problems
that get by on the production line, maybe i should not have said that being an ex-boeing employee!! that was a joke! the only problem i have now is when i rejetted i was on the 5th notch, then i saw NYROC post saying to go to the 4th notch, and on the throttle a bit it stutters and spits.. maybe i need to rejet or go back to 5th notch. if you read this
NYROC let me know what you think please. any help is aprecieated.

Scoot, if the needle is wrong you will get stuttering when doing a quick stab of the throttle, and/or a stutter about 1/3 throttle. I would have guessed 4th notch. Maybe something is different about your machine, and it needs the 5th.

Most quads I have read about without a pipe like the 4th notch when they live under 3000ft. Do you have the two washers on the back side of the needle, behind the clip. Sometimes people do that differently.

I could tell mine was rich on the 5th notch, cuz when I started it and gave it a 1/3 throttle stab, it was strong, but began to hesitate after it heated up. You can tell if yours is lean if the particular thing you are doing is worse when cold that when it is hot.

Did you guys realise that putting one of the washers under the clip instead of on top is the same as a half a notch? So why don't you try 4 and a half.
