Look at the air filter lid and if it has a dip "02" (like a coin tray in) or just domed lid "03".

Check the model number. If it is KVF650-B2 then it's a 2003.

idaho, the camos were available for 02 and 03. u can look at your title that the dealer should have given u or your registration if u already registered it. also, the 03 comes with a hitch ready to accept a trailer ball. the 02 didnt come with a hitch or any means of connecting a trailer ball. either one u have they are basically the same. hope i helped.

OK, mine has the coin tray type air filter cover, fuel light like the 02's but it doesn't have a fuel reserve. It could be mine is a transition model that they threw whatever parts they had available.

thanks for the replies.

The Certificate of Origin from the Manufacturer (Kawasaki) will show the model year. It looks like a car title.

Idahoprarie None of the 02 or 03 prarie 650's have a reserve tank. The fuel warning indicator will flash when you are low on fuel.
