Automatic or no automatic......I know how quick a slightly modded P-650 is and this thing can only be much faster. There is a new drag race and dune machine to contend with. And most thought the DS and Raptor's had torque?? LOL!! I can't wait to see Micky's 800 kit on this bad boy!!...If it's needed.
KAWAZUKI,
I had no idea of the engine size and only got hints that it was even a sportquad, so I didn't really have anything to say. I only knew for sure the same way you guys found out....ATV Connection.
packardbell,
You owe me a lunch!! As you can see, the letter WAS NOT FAKE!!
Mike330R,
Are any of you going to the dealer show to ride this thing?? We aren't gonna make it this year. I will be looking forward to the article.

I wonder when it will be on there website. I wonder what the weight of it will be. I know the Praire is around 604 lbs. Think they could get the weight down to 450lbs? If they do I know what my tax return is going for.
What if they made a 4x4 version of it?

I'm sure it's going to have a ton of torque.
I'm sure builders will get even more out of it.
I'm pretty sure it's going to be a good bit heavier than even the DS650.
Automatic trannies such up a good bit of the power advantage it may have, and in my opinion make it a little less fun to ride.
Shaft drive will make alot of unsprung weight hard to get under controll at high speed in the rough.
Shaft drive will make gearing changes for different riding conditions hard or impossible.
I applaud Kawasaki for their effort in the sport quad market. They have twice the options that Bombardier has, already. I expect sales to be just luke warm on this bike though. I can hear the same complaints as the DS recieves- It's too heavy, it doesn't jump well, it's handling isn't like a 250R. I'm betting it will have a few more or it's own though. I'm betting that Kawasaki doesn't have as much into R&D on this bike as most new bikes have though, so they should do OK. As soon as the 650 Prarie came out, people asked when they were going to build a sport quad like it, thanks for listening Kawasaki, good luck with it.

One of our neighboring dealers will be going, but I wont get the scoop from him until he returns from the convention Wednesday night.......and just because he's going doesn't mean that he will get to ride it either. I figure everyone will want to throw a leg over these things......I know I would. The waiting lines are going to be long!
Stock for stock, the slightly modded P-650 I mentioned will stay right with my Cannondale from a rolling start drag race up to about 45mph, so I am eager to see what this KFX700 can do.
Judging by the specs, it looks like it will do well amongst the other big bore sportquads. Especially with the automatic transmission. Most riders that ride the bigbores are into type of riding and racing that don't require the need for a manual clutch anyway.
