I have a Wiseco hot-rods crank that is pretty new but it's not welded. I plan on getting a port job to bump the HP in the 55-75 HP range. Would this crank hold up without welding?

If it is new and you don't think you will have to rebuild it for a while, definetly weld it. If you haven't seen a banshee motor that has had the crank scatter, it isn't pretty.

The hot rods crank assembly really is not the best for a hopped up engine . The factory yamaha crank is a much better part . If you must use the hotrod crank replace the rod bearings with FACTORY yamaha bearings then weld it .

Rick, have you ever built one of the 426x's? I have heard of a few of them but don't know much about them. The old 410 will need freshing up this winter. It is having trouble with a friends 465ex, so I need to come up with something. PM me if you are interested in building it.
