Default Wont crank

I have a 2000 scambler 500 and know that there is a very small amont of water in the gas because it started bustin up a little when you get low on gas or if I pop a wheelie after it lands it would bust up a little so I figure there was a little water in the fuel bowl and ith got shook up during the bump. I ran the tank completly out of gas then unscrewed the screw at bottom of the carb and drained, It ran fine for a while but then started doing the same thing. Went to ride today before work and it would not even crank just turned over after a few tries it finally tried to crank but shut right back down and I have not had the chance to check it out before work but what could it be? Maybe the little bit of water has finally completly filled up the carb or the plug is bad , what do yall think
