Default Indicator and warning lights

i own a 96' magnum 425 and the reverse light does not go on. Is it just the bulb or what? the neutral and high beam lights work i have yet to see the others. Also which is the idle screw the one pointing down with a spring on it or the one going inward that needs a screwdriver? How often should it be greased?

A good starting point on the light would be to check the wires from the reverse light bulb with a voltmeter when in reverse. If you have 12 volts, then you know the bulb is burnt. If you don't, look up the wiring schematic in the service manual and trace the circuit. If you are not getting power to the bulb and the wiring has checked out, it could be the switch in the gear selector. The switch is $60.00.

The idle adjust screw is the one with the spring.

Greasing depends on riding style. The least I would perform is every 6 months or 40-50 hours if you putt-putt around, and stay out of the mud and water. If you ride in mud and water, I would lube it every 4-8 hours of ride time. Get a good grease gun that allows you to squeeze the handle with one hand. A flexible hose is a must. If you can afford it, buy one of the cordless grease guns. It makes easy work of the messy job.

If you don't get any power at the wires for the light, check the switch on the transmission for continuity with an ohmmeter. I used to grease my 01 Scrambler after every ride. A couple pumps in every grease nipple can't hurt it.
