I am installing parts today. I did not realize how big that front sproket bolt is. What size socket do I need to get?

I use a 30mm. It might be a standard but 30mm definitely fits.

I bought one of these and a 30mm 1/2 socket, to change the front sprocket. I take it with me in truck everywhere I go! It will take that nut right off! no problem and it's portable!

12v impact wrench!

I use a breaker bar on a socket too, and put the bike in high gear with my foor on the rear brake while breaking it loose.
Everything on the DS is metric, and in a way Rockey is right about "standard" - metric is standard in most of the world!
