AC 500 vs Quest 500
#1
I currently have a 2001 Arctic Cat 400 4X4. I love the machine but I really want an automatic now. I'm thinking of replacing it with either a AC 500 4X4 or the Bombardier Quest 500 4X4. I know a few people who own ACs and they are happy with them. Unfortunately, I don't know any Bombardier owners but they seem to have a good reputation.
I'm looking for opinions as to which is the better machine. Top speed is not an issue although I would prefer that it have little zip.
Thanks for the help.

I've got the Quest 500, bought it in May 2002. I also looked at the AC500. The Bombardier is quieter, quicker, has a smooth ride and just seemed to handle better. Bombardier was also offering a three year bumper to bumper warranty when I bought mine. Test drive them both.

You can't go wrong with either quad. I've test rode both and still can't decide which is better.
Quest:
Pros---> More stable on off chambers, easier to work on due to engine/seat set up, true 4wd, front cooler/storage
Cons--> Ground clearance, looks (depends on what you think), no 2wd option, rear suspension
Cat:
Pros--> Ground clearance, IRS, 2/4wd
Cons--> Lacks true 4wd, IRS=more parts, lack of water proof storage (if this matters), less stable in off-chamber situations
I like my cat and like Bombs, ride both and see what you think.
