Default V-PADDLES? What ones seem to be the best?

I need some roosting paddles, I love my Extremes but I also need to do some roosting on occasion. I want a paddle that I can still pull the wheels of the ground but can also do some roosting. Try and due a powerslide with these Extremes and you will kill yourself! Fullerton Sand tire told me that the best all- around tire they sell is a Orginal Sand Skate 1 with a comp cut. But they want $430.00 for them! These guy's are really knowledgeable about sandtires but I don't know how they stay in business! They are the most expensive tire place I have seen yet. Any insight as always would be appreciated.

Sand Skate 2's without a doubt!!!!! still not cheap but not $400+ either. Thats what I have been running all along so you know they work well, even for draggs if one was to come up while riding.

Sand Skate II!!!!
Without a doubt the most fun that could ever be had in the sand!
Long live the VEE paddle!!!
Anybody that says different has never tried them, and I'm not talking about dragging - I'm talking about riding - where all the real fun is at!!!

AngryBajaBoy,

I have the exact tires that Joe @ Fullerton Sand Sports was telling you about. The Sand Skate I with comp. cut. I paid $440 and had him put the anti-flat tire sealant in them. I can only compare these tires to the Kenda Trakkers I had before, however I can say they are awesome. In any kind of sand that I found at Pismo Beach I could start from a dead stop uphill and take off without trouble or any other maneuver I wanted. When I was using the Kenda Trakkers I couldn't even get going on level ground if I was sitting on the machine. (I had to get off the machine, put it in gear, get it moving while running along side then jump onto the ATV and off I could go - THAT SUCKED!) All in all I love my new tires; one thing I like best is that they are a true 21" at the carcass, not the tips of the paddles. If the Sand Skate IIs are made anything like the Sand Skate Is they are probably a true 20" tire which would make them about as big as a Skat-Trak 22" tire. (The Skat-Trak tires always seem to be about 2" shorter than the size indicated.)

BillDS650,

your 22X14X10 Desert Mini Trak are a stagger cut straight paddle right? Don't those compare more to the 'normal' straight paddle, or does the stagger cut give them better maneuverability? What is the true width of them? As I recall, Sand Tires Unlimited makes those, so if they are a true 14" wide that has got to be a TON of contact with the ground. After spending $440 on my paddles I don't plan to buy another pair for a long, long time however I'm curious to know if you think those tires will work for a mild or stock engine, or if it needs to have a good amount of extra oomph to pull them?
