Default Thumb Warmer - Need Advise

I'm installing a Parts Unlimited thumb warmer. It has a soft rubber coated warmer. What's the best way to glue this to the throttle? Should I cut off the existing plastic on the throttle? Will glue bond better to the aluminum? I'm considering using super glue and filling the ends with epoxy. I want the cleanest look possible. I don't want to use zip ties around the element.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I put Hot Grips and a thumbwarmer on my machine. I removed the plastic covering on the throttle, roughed up the surface some and used J & B Weld two part epoxy....has held securely for two years so far.

I use heat shrink about an inch and 3/4 in diameter and about 2" long just slide it over the element and the thumb lever and hit it with a heat gun or hair dryer.Give the wire just enough slack to run the throttle and ziptie the wire to the handlebar.I've used it on at least 40 atv's with no complaints.
