Drag racing food for thought.
I doubt that many guys will share much info here but I'm bored so here are a few things I was wondering if anyone has tried for drag racing purposes only.
Lightened flywheel.
Different chain
Removed rear brakes
Lighter axle
Lighter hubs
Lighter sprockets
Lighter wheels.
Balanced reciprocating mass
Adjustable ignition timing
Adjustable cam sprockets
Removed water pump
If I had a purpose built drag machine, almost all of the above would be done. Most of the above just arent practical for the weekend warrior though. The most interesting would be a Ti or Carbon fiber axle, since thats where most of the rotational mass could be reduced. Adjustable ignition and cam sprockets look interesting also.

A trully strong but light Swingarm made from Chrome Moly tubing or Ti tubing
Someone that can actually build a big bore and do it fast and reliably(Sam Coe cant do it either just ask majorecho)
Head work that is in the real world of pricing. 2800 just to get a single cylinder head done is blasfemy. You can get a V8's HEADS done with the most state of the art technology done to it for less than that.

THen you should get the 6 piston caliper for the back to slow it down.

Hey AZSand, How much did the Ti axle set you back? I bet with all that weight you saved on the unsprung weight the suspension works a lot better as well.
Anyone done anything with the valves, like a 5 angle valve job with a 30 degree backcut or undercut stems?

I would also loose the front brakes, and use a 6 piston caliper rear. Titanium struts, instead of shocks. Ti drag pipem like RaptorRRC made for the raptors, .125 rims, and super-light tires, no need for new hubs, just machine down the old hubs. Durablue hollow aluminum axle should shave some lbs. You could always loose the wiring/lights/batters/airbox, etc. and just have someone pull-start you every time. Serious draggers could loose the oil tank, etc. Hmmm.... now you got me thinking.
