Heath,
The only way that I could do it was to take the seat off then loosen the Plastic fenders, remove the gas tank and you should be able to get to it. It is a pain in the A$$. Have you have anytrouble with your bike cutting out?

Yeah, that is almost the only way to do it. I have seen my buddy manage to do it by blind feeling though...but he has skinny arms. So if you have forearms like Popeye, better put them to use wrenching out plastic screws and lifting the gas tank!
