ok guys, was lookin at my owner's manual and it showed a piece of screen wire at the end of the exhaust pipe of my predator.... upon taking it apart, i found it. what would be wrong w/ removing the screen wire? I'm no mechanic, hoping somebody could shed some light on the subject

 

It helps break up the spark that might come through the exhaust. Kinda like a spark arrestor.
