Hi all I'm new here. I have a question for you. I just bought a 99 Scrambler 400 a few months ago. I think the gas is to lean, but I don't know how to tell for sure and I don't know how to change it. Any thoughts. Also any advice on this machine at all would be appreciated., So far i love it.

 

First what is it doing to make you think it is running lean post some of the probs. and there will be plenty of people here willing to help you. BTW love the Icon.

 

Well it's cutting out especially when i get into the higher elavations. I checked the filters and that seemed to help a little but it still does it. I have noticed that it seems to run different in this cold weather as well.

Pull your carb chek your jetting you pob. gonna have to rejet in higher elavtions and colder weather. Also go into your profile and turn on your PM I have some things laying around you might want to try.

 

Ok I know I'm an idiot but what is the PM and how do I turn it on. Also I don't know how to check the jetting. I was hoping someone could help me figure that out. Isn't that the same as adjusting it if it's too lean.
