Default ReClutching a 500 HO

First off the reason I'm looking at doing something with the clutches is the lurch I get when pulling away. For normal riding it's annoying but tolerable. On the other hand I was loading my quad on to my trailer in wet conditions and make matter worse the trailer was on a hill to-boot. Riding up the ramps was fine until I had to give just a little more throttle to get the front wheels over a hump, you guessed it the clutch hit the back wheels spun and if it weren't for my buddy holding on to my quad for dear life I would have been laying on the ground and who know's what else.
My past ride was a 98 Sportsman 500 and I loved the way the clutch engaged. So my question is, has anybody installed the clutch weights and spring from the earlier Sportsman in to the HO?
Any other suggestions?
