Default heated hand grip switch location??

I want to install heated grips and thumbwarmers, and know how to do it but where is the best location for the switches?? I was thinking on the black pod that houses the idiot lights. Any and all info would be nice. Thanks in advance, NO MAP

That's were I have the switch for my handgrips, not sure if there is enough room for two switches. An other place is on plastic just below the gas tank. Make sure you can reach them with your left hand. My buddy has his on the right side and it's a problem to switch them on and off when you're driving.

It is the obvious! They are electrical elements in grips themselves that heat up. Most brands have a hi/lo setting. Thumb warmers are the same only installed on the throttle lever. There are several brands to choose from and they are fairly easy to install. A must for any northern rider!!! As I see you are from Mn. you would benefit greatly from hand and thumb warmers if you ride at all during the winter monthes.

nomap, I installed mine on the plastic below the idiot lights and it is a perfect spot!!

I mounted mine to the handle bars. Mine aren't the rocker switch type, they have a dial, and they came with a clamp to mount them to the bars, or a sticky side to stick it to the plastic. They seem to work better now that i've had them longer for some reason. At your local car store (canadian tire) they sell sticky stips of metal/plastic that you stick on the bars, then put the stock grips back on over top and they work good, and are cheaper!

Just wondering but where I put my quad in alot of mud and water is it likely for them to short out or does this unit seal up pretty tight. Never installed them but looking to buy some and get them on before next winter.
