Brother totaled his CBR in an accident
#1
Hey guys, I know this isnt related to the forum at all, but I thought I should share. My brother called about an hour ago telling my mother and I that he was in a motorcycle accident. Of course, we both were worried about how he was. He told us he wasnt seriously injured, but couldnt tell details cause he hasent been with a doctor yet. He was riding down a one way road (in cali) and some inconsiderate teenager made the mistake of turning the wrong way on a one way road. He couldnt stop in time (he was about 25 feet away from him when he turned) so he had nothing else to do except hit the car. He endoed the bike while trying to stop and his front tire hit the front of the car and he was flung onto the hood. He then rolled off the car and picked up what was left of his bike onto its stand. The teen driving the car was not charged with ANYTHING, police didnt check the physical condition of my brother in any way, and didnt ask him for a ride to his work (where he was driving too). The bike then was taken to the shop by a recker and the recker drove my brother to work. In my opinion, its total crap that the police didnt do anything more about what happened. They said if they didnt witness the man turning the wrong way on the street, they cannot charge him with anything.
But the main reason im telling you all this is that I hope you all are SAFE on whatever you ride. Be it streetbike, quad, dirtbike, ANYTHING, just make sure to be safe. Consider my brother lucky, because this could have been alot worse!

Any time somone totals a motorcycle and can still talk on the phone, its a good deal. Even if the police did shaft him.. I just wonder why an ambulance wasnt called incase of internal injuries. That seems pretty negligent to me. If I wreck my bike im going to lay on the gound and yell "help, cant move, call an ambulance" Anywho, hope it turns out hes alright.

I really dont like people who neglect and dont be careful around motorcyclers. They have just the same right on the road anyone else, and should be given as much respect an an 18 wheeler. Unfortunately, motorcyclers are given a bad rep. because of riders who drive to dangerously or agressively. I am very sorry to hear about your brother and law! I hate to read stories like this. It hits really close to home. My mother made a comment that I will never forget while she was on the phone, she said "How many times are u going to crash before you realize you dont need it?" I just really dont want him getting hurt....
