Default CRANKCASE OIL ?? TRAILBLAZER 250

DAVE HERE
I HAVE HAD AND STILL HAVE MANY BIKES, BUT THIS IS MY FIRST POLARIS 2 STROKE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT OIL IF ANY GOES IN THE CRANKCASE. I CAN'T FIND A DIPSTICK,SIGHTGLASS OR ANYTHING. DOES IT GET ITS LUBE FROM THE 2 STROKE OIL?? HOW ABOUT WHAT OIL GOES IN THE TRANSMISSION?? I JUST GOT IT TONIGHT AND IT HAS NO BOOK WITH IT. ANY HELP OR INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
HAPPY TRAILS
DAVE

Dave, the transmission is seperate from the engine. It has it's own oil.(Polaris gearcase oil)
The engine does get it's oil from the fuel/oil mixture.
Not sure on 250, but the 400 2-stroke has a dip stick under and to right of carb. for counterbalancer oil.(10/30 motor oil).
The trans has dip stick also on right side.(Holds about 20oz)

Get repair or service manual. Good Luck

Keep air filter clean, and warm up engine first before riding hard.

Dave, the 250 doesnt use a counterbalancer, so the only oil you have to worry about is the gearcase lube. That and keeping the oil tank full up front. Happy riding,Bubba

I just replace the top in my 1997 trail boss 250 and it look like there was some kind of oil when I would rotate the crank with the top end off. What oil would be around the crank?
