Just curious.... Do you leave your key on when you stop until the fan stops?
I'm not sure but I think the LTZ fan continues to run even though the key is off
but I might be wrong.

Leaving the key on isn't going to help cool off the quad. With the motor off the antifreeze isn't circulating so the fan isn't cooling the motor...just the rad itself.

Kindsambo - as long as the engine is hot enough for the thermostat to stay open thermosiphon cooling will take place. Cooling the engine down some and as you stated the radiator to a greater amount. This is beneficial in hotter weather to reduce the amount of heat soak that occurs when a hot engine is shutdown.

THERMOSIPHON COOLING:

Many engines used in old tractors, cars, trucks and stationary equipment use the thermosiphon cooling system. This eliminated the need for the water pump, and prevented the possibility of water pump failure. Since heated water rises, the water in the engine cooling jacket will flow upward through a water pipe to the top of the radiator. Cooler water from the bottom of the radiator enters the bottom of the engine, setting up a constant flow of cooling water

Bad Azz: I see you have a WB Jet kit for the WB pipe.
Is this readily available at WB? or better stated ....Where did you get the kit?
Whats in it? The reason I ask is that I have the WB pipe but stock jetting....
While riding yesterday it seemed the bike was running hot..... Hence the fan question etc.
Also it seemed the bike cut out a bit at top end.... I don't think it was the rev limiter...just kinda cuttin out
So I'm thinking maybe I should rejet to the 160 main and go to the third clip position as the superbike people suggest. Is the main jet compatible with other carburetor brands?? Or should I say is the jet, generic and most likely carried at any bike shop? Sorry I'm a 2 stroke convert and I don't want to tear the carb apart without the replacement main sitting there. The manual calls the carb a BSR which I am unfamiliar with...Thanks ...Tres

Oops! just went and looked at the carb again ......It says...... Mikuni of course, Duh ... So I will assume that the Jets are easy to get ( dangerous assumption?) But I am leaving the above post in case you might want to comment on my idea that going to the 160 might help cool the bike and eliminate the slight cutting out it has at top end, and I'm also still curious as to what the WB jet kit included....

THE MAIN JET FOR THE PREDATOR IS THE MIKUNI SMALL ROUND JET. YOUR NEEDLE CLIP IS ALREADY IN THE THIRD POSITION FROM THE FACTORY. THE 160 WILL WORK WELL WITH JUST THE PIPE, WITH AIRBOX MODS RATH SUGGESTS 50 PILOT JET, DROP THE CLIP TO THE FOURTH POSITION AND A 165 TO 170 MAIN JET. I AM RUNNING THIS SET UP NOW, WITH 10 DISC IN THE PIPE. YOU WILL BE WELL PLEASED, REALLY
WAKES UP THE BOTTOM END.
