Stock '03 Kawasaki Prairie 650 takes Stock '99 Scrambler 500 4x4

My brother-in-law just bought a new Prairie, so we ran it against my Scrambler, and he took me off the line and slightly pulled and kept a 4wheeler length lead 'till the end. Unbelievable, I'm planning on adding a Heel Clicker clutch kit and a K&N air filter to see if that closes the gap a little.

Getting beat by a similar machine four years newer and 150cc's bigger is really that bad? That was Kawasaki's first attempt at a real four wheel drive and it still won't have a chance in the mud compared even to a Scrambler, much less a Sportsman!

I Raced a p650 with my scrammy also. Yes I did lose when it was stock but adding a clutch kit did help. I can always get the hole shot but in the mid range he pulls ahead by about two feet and stays there. My opinion is yes, it out weighs my scrammy by 15 pounds But it also has 150 more cc's. That right there tells you who can build a better engine and tranny set up. The p650 should be able to beat me by far more than what it does.
