Polaris 700 vs Kami 650

First off, many thanks to all you folks who respond with opinions on this website. It's a great help to us folks that are looking for information. Well, after shopping around, test riding, and spending a few hours reading all the threads on this site I have finally decided on the Polaris 700 in camo as my new ride. It came down to the Polaris 700 and the Kawi P650 but the Polaris won out for a number of reasons most of which have already been noted in other posts.
One thing I haven't seen anyone bring up here before though...... After reading almost every post on the Polaris and Kawi pages there seems to be a recurring theme on the Kawi. Read the Kawi page and there are numerous complaints about belt wear, weak choke springs, squeeling belts, crappy tires, and broken black plastic....along with remedies to try to fix them. Read the Polaris page and you don't see a SINGLE complaint on the 600 or 700. I found that interesting anyway......
I think the Polaris is an awesome machine....plus it's made here in the good ol' USA !!! I can't stand unions but I think everyone should should at least consider this when purchasing a new ride. It's also why I ride a Harley !!! Thanks again for all the valuable opinions !!!

Glad to hear you bought yourself a good ole American machine.
But, what could you possible have against unions? They brought the 40 hour work week, benefits, higher wages, job security, safety etc.
Unless you are a business owner who does not relish the idea of paying a decent wage.
Unions are a good thing for lots of us. I'm proud to be in the Sheet Metal Workers Intl. I do a good job and get paid well to do it.
Your stance on unions is unfortunate, hopefully you will rethink.

Sorry guys...I didn't mean to offend anyone but that's my opinion for quite a number of valid reasons and what life experience has taught me.....and I used to be a member of the Steelworkers. I didn't mean to turn this into a political deal...everyone has an opinion. I still always try to buy American whenever possible though....

The biggest problem the 700 has been having is a coolant leak at the water pump cover. All current production machines have updated parts, but there may be some of the earlier build ones with the old style part that can spring a leak. Keep an eye on it, and if you see the slightest sign of a coolant leak, get it fixed. Polaris is providing the updated parts free under warranty. They haven't issued a recall that I know of (I have heard because they didn't have enough of the new parts made yet) but will fix them as they come in.
