scrambler 500 4x4 front shaft pin????

i have a 500 4x4 where the shaft is slid over a splined shaft coming out of the gear box there is a pin on partsland.com it is called a spring pin or soemthing like that.
well anyways that pin on the left hand side of mind is almost ready to fall out and it looks like it is cracked or something. does anyone know what the deal is with this??? how is it supposed to come out anything special??? i guess ill have to replace it huh??

It is a spring roll pin. It is held in by friction. Just use a punch to drive the old one out & the new one in. You can even use the new pin to drive the old one out with.
Tip: You can save some $$ by going to a John Deere, CaseIH, New Holland, etc. dealership with your old pin. Farm equipment uses the same sort of pin, it is just a matter of matching up the size, and is usually cheaper there than through Polaris.

The roll pins are usually hollow and for added strength you could fing a smaller diameter one that fits into the bore of the original. I`m not sure if the pin is large enough to do this but it`s something to consider. HTH

ok i took it out today it is pretty bad the edge of the roll is all chiped off.
does any one know the exact size of the pin??
if not thats fine i just thought it would make it a little easier to find another one.
