Im goingto be getting a white brothers pipe for my scrambler 500 and i was wondering if i shoud get a clutch kit to go along with. Do they help the belt not to wear. I have a 2001 and the belt hasnt been changed when should they be changed. thanks

 

Give Rick Ritter a call he can help you with the clutch kit.A clutch kit will definitely help.As for the belt i replace mine once a year ,There is a measurement to go by to measure the belt to see if it has any wear,I'm sure Rick could help you with that measurement also.Hope this helps.

 

Try the pipe by itsself first then go to a clucth kit or just new springs.This way you can tell what the pipe does for it and then how the clutch effects it.Being a 4 stroke you dont have to clutch it to the rpm of the pipe as close like you do with a 2 stroke.Dont forget to go with a high flow air filter and check the jetting.

The best thing for performance that you can do for a Scrambler 500 is put a clutch kit in it. I put a Hot Seat clutch kit in my old '01 4x4 and the difference was amazing.
