Help - carb question
#1
I have two blasters. One stock - no mods, the other bored, pipe and K&N. I just rebuilt the stock one. I swaped pipes (put the FMF on the newly rebuilt one). Bike didn't run great at mid to high so I took apart the carbs to check the jet sizes. The one that originally had the pipe had larger main and higher needle position, pilot was same as stock. So I swaped carbs to see if newly rebuilt blaster w/ pipe would run better. It did. Ran excellent. I put the stock pipe and stock carb (stock jets) back on the other blaster. Problem: bike won't start. No fuel is getting to cylinder. Plug is bone dry even with choke and wide open throttle. Spark is great. Every once in a while, while kicking it over, I'll open throttle full, and she'll fire for a second, then nothing. I also am getting a back-fire every ten kicks or so. Float bowl is full.
Any suggestions? This bike ran perfect before messing w/ carb.

My suggestion is to take off the carb, and put it inside the house. You will then want to dissasemble the carb and put it backe together cleaning out every little hole and slide. My guess is something got logged in soemthing and/or you put it together wrong.
