It all depends on what type of riding you are talking about. For general dune riding they are ok. The DS like large tires for the sand. I like my 22X14X10 STU Mini Desert Trak's. I had the Padla Brat's w/stagger cut they dug trenches on starts and could not turn.

I bought a set of geckos (21") and really enjoyed them in the sand. For duning and general handling, they were great, but lacked the real focus for uphill and flat drags. Since I do more drags than before, I found that I'm keeping my extreme haulers on instead of switching out to the Geckos. Like Bill said, it's all what you want to do with them.

Their alright, their heavy and work better than a angled paddle, but nothing like a straight paddle for hookup, you can slide real good if thats what you are looking for.

i had the geckos on my wifes ds, and they worked ok for a while, she now has haulers. i would try hers after riding mine which had haulers and it was sick the difference. lucky for me my son wanted the geckos for his blaster. i think if had to go with a cheap sand tire i might try a kings tire hauler style i think they may be heavy but would hook up well.
