Clutch question - 03 Warrior
#1
I just bought an 03 Warrior. The thing is great. It is my first quad, so maybe my question is dumb, but you be the judge. When the quad is not running, in gear with the clutch pulled all the way in, are you supposed to be able to push it without resistance? The thing moves, but feels like the clutch is grabbing. Let go of the clutch, then I got full lock-up. I thought my buddies xr400 rolls with the clutch in no matter what gear you are in. Is this quad supposed to be the same way?
The other funny thing is that it tends to jerk forward on startup when cold with the clutch in, but is ok after a warm start. (gotta keep my foot on the break!) IS this right?? This thing is still under warranty cuz it's 2 weeks old.
Thanks for readin', hope you can help me.

I think they all do it when cold. When I put mine in reverse to get out of the shed I pull the clutch in and shift into R and it starts backing up with the clutch in...give it a little gas and the clutch warms up and stops. It's no big deal, the clutch just needs to warm up. Maybe when you are warming up the quad try holding in the clutch and see if that helps.
As for pushing it in gear with the clutch pulled in, almost every quad or bike has some resistance...the Warrior probably more than some.

My Brothers Warrior, does the exact same thing. Since it is a wet clutch the temp has an effect on it until it warms up. As long as it does not slip or become excessive i would not worry about it.
