NAPA sell heli-coil thread repair kits. take your bolt to NAPA so they can order the right thread pitch and diameter. it will be expensive. probally around 40 bucks.
the kit comes with a special tap a tube of thread inserts and you will need to buy a drill bit.

I did the same thing. I went to Pep Boys and got me an 18mm bolt that was a little longer than the stock one. About 1/2" longer. Threaded it up in there and it works great. There are still threads up in there that aren't used by the stock drain bolt. Do not over torque or you will strip it out for sure. 30lbs no more.

Default HELP MY OIL PLUG IS STRIPPED

Hey everyone,
I too have a stripped out oil plug on my 02 DS650. I was hoping there might be a few more people out there with advice to what they did to solve this problem. I'm thinking the BMW part may be the best solution here. Thanks!
