Hope somebody knows....

Back on top.
Okay, I bought a set of stock cams and am checking into having them reground to something around a sport cam. Someone must know the general specs of the stock cams. If it works out I'll let everyone know, if it can't be done someone jump in and tell me.

It can be done - that's what Web does, hence the core charge. they take the factory cam, weld up the lobe, regrind to new specs.
You got a local shop interested in doing it?
If you call Web let us know the specs too - I'm gonna be ordering dual rate springs from them shortly, I'll ask then if you haven't by then.

The mailman just delivered my cams, I'll stop by the cam grinder before work.

just an FYI for future post researhcers:

Web sport cams are .395 lift, 289deg.
Pami, I'm told on this forum, is .405"/270deg. This is what I have on the way - best of both worlds, strong midrange, little more on top, no bottom end loss - so I'm told.
Race cams go up around .420" and higher, with less duration if memory serves me. I didn't want to lose the bottom - too much woods trail riding in my schedule.

I took my cams to a grinder today who just happened to have a master that was something like 402"/244 at .050 (I didn't write it down) this is very close to the Pami sport cam then if you are correct, Hightower. Cost of regrind is around $100 and will be done in about a week.
I want to make a trip to the dunes before and after to tell the difference if any this will make. I ride with the same guy all the time and we are always neck and neck so I will have a good way to judge.
If these work out I will post the grinders address and anybody else ought to be able to do this. I may sell him my extras so he would have a set waiting if someone sent him their cams he could ship out regrinds right away. This is just an experiment right now and is all speculation. This is a hole in the wall shop but keeps 3 people busy and has been around for 10 years.
