Anyone run Mobil 1 synthetic?
#1
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has run Mobil 1 synthetic motorcycle oil in their DS's? I've heard from the two wheeled boards that some don't like it because of clutch slippage. I ran it in my 2000 Hayabusa exclusivly and logged 7300mi's with Numerous Dragstrip launches on the stk swingarm with absolutly ZERO problems. Still had STK clutches.
I would think it would work very well in my DS, but just wanna make sure i'm not overlooking something.
-THANKS!

Regular Mobile 1 will cause problems with your clutch, many people on here found that out the hard way. There is a Mobile 1 synthetic that is made exclusively for motorcylces with wet clutches though (can't remember what its called) It can be found at many of the chain autoparts stores. If you search the exxon-mobile website you can find it.
Mobile 1 regular will make the clutches in the DS650 slip, something about the content in the plate material that reacts with the friction modifiers in the oil. The Mobile 1 special for wet clutches does not have the friction modifiers. Hope this helps...
