Need info on DS mods and maintenance

I'll second that, very surprising results with just these bolt on's. If you can get away without an airbox, get the K&N mounted on the carb.....breathes much better plus no worries of stock airboot collapsing on you under arduous acceleration.

maintenance - do everything the owners manual recommends as often as it says. Inspect all that stuff. If you don't have a manual, get one. And get the shop manual if you plan to work on it yourself - saves a lot of hassles, headaches, and questions.
Check for axle play before every ride - riding with a loose axle nut can tear stuff up.
Keep the chain adjusted right - if it comes off it can tear a hole in the case.
I like put mine away ready for the next ride - all checks done post ride, cleaned and lubed - chain included, ready to go. All I do the morning of the ride is confirm oil level and antifreeze level, and check tire pressures.
Maintenance is part of the fun of riding and owning a bike, gotta love it all.
