Default Raptor Rev limiter attached to the emergency brake - Question

There is a rev limiter attached to the emergency brake. I have it unattached now and the rev limiter is now active. Has anyone got the trick to totally disabling it. If you do please let me know...........it will save me some tinkering

Thanks

I think you plug the wires in to each other.
I'm not 100% sure but I thought I read something about that.

I just cut the wire and put some silicone on it.

Default Raptor Rev limiter attached to the emergency brake - Question

Greg - There are 2 sets of wires coming from the stock e-brake. One set of wires connect to the wiring harness with a plug and the other set connects with bullet connectors. The two wires that plug into male/female bullet connectors control the rev limiter and the ability to start in gear. The wires going into the white plug prevent your quad from starting in gear without the clutch pulled.

Unplug the bullet connectors from the wires running from the e-brake and plug the mates that are left on the Raptor wiring harness into each other. You can just disconnect the wires running into the plug and seal the plug but remember, your quad will try to start in gear even if the clutch isn't pulled.

Greg I disconnected the green wire with a yellow tracer going into the CDI unit. It should be the only wire going into the CDI unit by itself in a 6 or 8 prong connector.

Default Raptor Rev limiter attached to the emergency brake - Question

What RPM does it limit it to when the E-brake is on? Is it high enough to be a holeshot limiter? All it would take is wiring it to the clutch on the switch that lets it start when the clutch is in.

2 problems with that idea,
1~ the revs aren't really high enough
2~it would cut in every time you used the clutch

Default Raptor Rev limiter attached to the emergency brake - Question

greg v, take off your front plastic to make the job easier. disconnect the wires from the perch, follow them down by the radiator. unplug them and then take the one end and plug it into the other. that simple. one thing to remember is now the quad will start, whether the clutch is pulled in or not. i hated the setup and went to a easy pull perch and lever. hope this helped.makes a clean look w/ out cutting wires.

Thanks guys.

It starts babbling around 3 grand or so. I will give it a go. I thought about extending the wire and making it functional again..........but probably not though.

Thanks again.

Default Raptor Rev limiter attached to the emergency brake - Question

I was afraid it wouldn't be high enough. I have a friend that had the MSD for his banshee set at 5000 and it wasn't high enough for it, but it is a piped two-stroke. They (MSD, DYNA, etc) cut out each time the clutch is pulled. You have to have the clutch ALL the way in though, right. You can't start it now with the clutch starting to grab can you? Also, hopefully, you have let off the gas when you pull the clutch anyway.

Just an idea for a cheap trick.
