rancher or magnum?
#1
I am new to quads and am looking at 2wd ranchers and magnums. I live on an island and will be doing some work and alot of playing on it, but due to the hassle of getting to a dealer I am looking for dependability. I have read some dependability issues with polaris but I really want my $$$ to stay in the U.S.A. I am also capable of doing maintenance myself. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi compress, I'm a tech at Honda dealer here in sunny MN. I can tell you the Rancher's been out a few years now, and the few bugs they had are pretty well worked out. They are reliable and easy to work on. They are made here in the USA too, As well as many of the suppliers for components. Don't know too much about the Magnum but it may have as many foreign parts as the Rancher. If this is a concern I would check it out for yourself. HEY, wait a minute... that's right , they make Polaris in Rosseau MN not too far north of here!! Never mind, we got a big state budget problem up here in MN, maybe you should buy the Polaris, hehe. Seriously, compress, Polaris is a darn fine company and don't want to knock them as they have some good product. If reliability is a concern, My humble opinion is get the Rancher.
