i might be buying a new Snell 2000 approved helmet. it's white and i was wondering if it's possible to paint it and not screw up the shell. if so, what kind of paint would i need to use?

...I was told that painting any helmet, interfers with the module/sturcture protection of the helmet,and no qualilty mfg will recommend it......

 

i read that label too.
i know there's a lot of custom painters out there but i just want to do something to break up the solid white.

 

put stickers on it

 

don't use spray paint in a can, use quality automotive paint (urethane based) Tape off the area u don't want painted. scuff up the other areas to get the shine off, use a good prep cleaner to make sure u get all contaminates off the surface, Then give it a squirt of your color choice. It's that easy. I painted on of my old helmets with that kameleon (color changing) paint and it came out awesome.
