Default Raptor connecting rod wear !?!

I'm in the process of stripping down the motor for a tranny conversion and noticed some unusual wear associated with the connecting rod.

1) There is some slight galling on the center section of the Piston pin and on the inside of the upper connecting rod hole. I'm surprised there is no bushing or bearng there. Is this OK - it's not sloppy and not blued.

2) The crankshaft has blued a bit at the lower connecting rod. It is not sloppy but I'm concerned it has not gotten oil real good.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks, Eric

My rod had very little discoloration when I rebuilt the trans, that may be a cause for concern if you are building your motor up. Had heard of a few rod failures but hadn't seen any yet.

Take it to a good machine shop for opinions. A reputable shop will not steer you wrong.
