I am looking to get some kind of skid plate for my rear sprocket on my scrambler. I want to sacrifice as little ground clearence as possible. Any suggestions on what the best rear skid plate is would be great.
Thanx for the help

Get the Pure Polaris skid. In my opinion it's the best out there. I heard of others that are cheap and/or don't fit good. No matter what kind you get you will be sacrificing about the same amount of g/c.

I would not even bother unless you traverse alot of rocky trails ,The stock disk works pretty well and in alot of conditions , I find that the after market rear skids on a swingarm ATV act like ski's in the mudd and snow preventing the wheels from digging down now this is just my thoughts on this and my experince with them this is buy no means carved in stone some people like them and swear buy them but not me so I thought I would post just so you might re-think if you really need one

Good Luck
P.S they doo look pretty though

Rather than protecting the rear, I would be more concerned about protecting the front . The CV joint and boots to be exact. The stock plastic gaurd just doesnt cut it. I an currently making a-arm quards out of .125 aluminum. I am also extending the lenght of the CV gaurd. I had to replace one 2 torn CV boots and one CV joint and I dont want to do it again. I am also building a chassis skid plate out of .125 sheetmetal that I will coat in undercoat to keep it from rusting. Aluminum can get kind ouf expensive for the larger pieces. The a-arm gaurds are going to cost me $10 for both. Where I ride I feel that the stock chain and sproket gaurds do just fine. I just want more protection on the areas that were kind of left out.
