I have noticed that when I am sitting still (idling), I can smell fuel. I checked the overflow tube coming from the carb bowl and there is a wetspot about 3/4"-1" from the end. You can see the gas evaporating from the end of the tube. I checked the float level, but the 400's float is plastic and non-adjustable. I also checked the fuel inlet valve and seat for dirt, but there was none. I run a fuel filter to avoid this problem, but still I am having problems with fuel coming out of the overflow. I have checked a total of five 400's and they all had this problem while running. I talked to a dealer and they were not aware of any problems to date. Has anyone on this forum experienced this problem and how did you fix it (if you did)?

Mine only does it on hills and wheelies.
I hope sooner or later, somebody comes out with an aftermarket float kit for that thing. I don't know why Honda has the fuel level set so high. I think it is stupid that it is not adjustable.
It is probably not adustable because of EPA regs or something stupid. Although I think raw gas spilling out is more of a pollutant than the user trying to make thier own adjustments to it.
