Gearing 15x42 or 17x38

Default Gearing 15x42 or 17x38

What gearing would be better for drag racing with my mods and also would I need a different chain. Thanx

Default Gearing 15x42 or 17x38

What size tires are you running, the 17/38 combo is the same gear ratio as running 22" tires with stock gears, so if you want the same hooh up as 22' tires but still run the 20" go with the 17/38.

I have 20' razors and I mostly race on dry pack dirt.

i have 15-42 on one of my ds's and it works great in the sand but for just hard pack i think it would be to much

try 15/40 with 20" tires, start in 2nd gear, wind her to about 6K and dump the clutch. You'll need heavy clutch springs. keep you nuts on the tank until you get going, or you'll flip, but you'll have a hell of a launch.
