Default DYNO JET KIT

I just put the dyno jet ket in my baja and it made a significant difference the bottom end and mid range power. Went with the 3rd groove and 190 main and 2 1/4 turns. I have a full header and pipe assembly (alba) and also a K&N filter with the airbox lid removed. #1 Would I notice much differnce if I went with a carb mount K&N and removed the airbox? #2 With this dyno kit the bike runs great, buuuuut now it coughs and sputters and dies occasionally if I am in gear on a downhill no gas. Is this the trade off or can it be fixxed?

Last question first. Mine did the same until I went to 2 3/4 turns out on the pilot air screw.
And yes, yes , yes You will get very good performance by going with a carb mount filter. If your ridding in an area that isn't soaking wet. Then carb mount filter is the way to go.

Turn the idle mixture screw clockwise until the motor begins to bog, then counterclockwise until it bogs again, and then set the screw exactly halfway between. This is the correct setting. If it ends up more than 3 turns out from seated, you need to go up a size on the pilot jet.

It worked! I went to just about 3 turns and it smoothed out. Ran up the street--no more popping. Thanks for the input guys.

The carb mount K&N adds a bunch of power.

Do you have a CDI yet?

Just ripped my airbox out and ordered the filter. Is the crankcase K&N where you tie in the tube coming off the side of the carb?
No CDI yet. I'm kind off leary about going with it because of having stock valve springs. Does it make that much of a difference. And with no internal motor mods could'nt it hurt the motor?

To me the RWR CDI made the biggest bang for the buck, hand's down. Although the 45mm Mikuni wasn't to shabby either :-) Good Luck, Putt
