Has anyone who owns a Rancher fouled out a plug? I have a 140 miles on mine. How long does the plug last in the 4 stroke engine? I know 2 stroke engines foul plugs more ofter than 4 strokes.

I should problaly get a spare & carry it!

a 4 stroke plug should last until it wears out.. 2-10 years in most cases. the plug in my 90' RM 250 2 stroke has lasted 3 years so far

JRM,

The reason I asked is my jetski that I owned in Florida fouled out a plug after 12 hours!

I dont think that 4 strokes foul plugs. Replace it when the electrode gets rounded, and keep the proper gap. I would keep an extra just in case it gets saturated w/ gas or oil in the event it ends up upside down.

The warm water in FL is the cause, Just runing to rich. It wouldnt foul in the columbia thats for sure. If it did it just needed the auto lube pump adjusted, a properly jetted machine 2 or 4 stroke shouldnt foul plugs.

I agree......if adjusted and tuned correctly the plug will last (almost) forever. BUT, just in case, Murphy's Law, always carry a spare and for about a buck ninty eight, tell me......why would any one spend time cleaning and gapping a plug?

I now carry a spare plug for all three of the quads! At $2 each, thats a cheap insurance policy!
