Fenders eating up Paddles??
#1
My neigbor bought some paddles/wheels from a guy who had a DS, and the paddles were torn up around the outside of the wheels. I've done a search on the the issue and only a few things come up. Only a few have tried to trim the plastic and most are buying new heel guards. I am one of the guys who would like to trim and not buy. I am going out this weekend and don't want to overnight the guards.
can anyone tell me exactly what to cut? How much to cut? And if it will cure the problem???? I can't believe that Bombardier would produce a bike knowing that it would be duned, and not be able to run paddles. Just seems odd to me, but I'm a newbie!
Does any one have suggestions?
HELP?

On the stock heel guards, cut the part that sticks out beyound the outside edge of the rear fender. If you take a peice of tape you can line it up with the outside of the rear fender, and go down with it, to the outside edge of the heel gaurd base. cut that line and you will cut out the problem area. I hope that made since.

They look better that way too Bigger.
I did mine that way, but didn't need to because I run 20" tires everywhere, sand included, and there are no issues with them. I just did it for the looks, and not to mention weight reduction. They hold about 4lbs. of mud when riding after rain!!

AS ALWAYS>>>> thanks for the replies. I will get to cuttin' tonight.
Hightower, I'm running 20X11X10 sand sharks. One would think 20's are 20's, but that is not always the case. Will I even have a problem with these paddles.
Actually my neighbors torn up paddles are exactly the same size, so I guess it will be an issue.
Thanks guys

try tightening the rear spring, i was hitting also, i know the sag thing will be off a little but i like the ride better and most people that ride my quad comment on that. i run both 20" and 22", would have went just 22" but when i first got sand tires i didn't know about this forum.
