Is the BMW f650 the same indetical engine as the DS? In other words will they swap and preform the same?

They are essentially the same, but I don't know if an engine from one would bolt into the other.

 

yes, they are the same but i believe the gearing and clutching is different in the bmw motor

 

Does the BMW have a Counter balancer?? If not.. it will vibrate!

1st and 5th gear are the same..and 2nd 3rd & 4th are higher

I am told the DS cases are stronger

The BMW motor has the short oil filter

Also I know BMW had various oil pump rotor sizes..that are smaller then the DS...

I was thinking of buying one and using it while I spiced up my stock DS motor.

Also the F650 has a single ehaust port outof the head. It doesn't have duals like the DS.
