I have an xplorer and the AWD isn't working properly. When i'm in 2WD the left front tire stays locked in AWD. I tried backing it out but it stays in. I think there might be something wrong with the magnets?

Have you changed or topped off the fluid? It could also be a short.

I changed the fluid and i still have the same problem. Could it be the cold weather? It is about -5* celsius here. Other forums talk about the armature plate being magnatised?

I took the hub apart and put it back together and the same thing happened again.
My dealer dosen't stock armature plates so it that must not be the problem

hey, thanx for all the help. I took apart the hub again and cleaned everything really good then put fresh oil in. It works better than new now. Thanx again, this saved me paying my dealer big $$ to fix it.
