HPD Fire Breathing Predator

Just got off the phone with the little shop of Horsepower. The Stage 1 and 2 kits are being finalized. Darrell and Mike are getting things together. As with all their mods, there's gonna be some durability testing, but they say the first stage kit is very close. The cams for the second stage are gonna take a little time. They have a great habit of finding the best gear, so as to be the best reliability for you and I. Waiting is gonna be the hard part. The beefier steering components are probably gonna be out before the engine mods. Even some talk of a swingarm. Don't mean to be a tease, but don't call them and bug them, I'll get the release dates out as soon as possible. Quality takes time. That's why my 15.5:1 400 race mod starts on the first pull, and screams through the woods 8-10 hours a day.
Don't go buying the first motor mods you see out there, let someone who's been testing and proving there's show you what they can do.

Great to hear more mods are coming. Gary from superbike shop has a 580 kit ready now. It has been tested and is ready for delivery. Polaris hired him to develop the Predator engine, and some of the polaris factory guys have it in there bike now. Looks like the parts are coming, and the future is bright. He has had this engine for along time, and has put alot of dyno time into it. They tried several combinations before settling with the 580 engine. Made more power than a 630 and revs alot faster. So far has proved to be bullet proof. He developed a carb kit that gives the predator a ton of low end tq. over 8 lbs at 3500 rpm, right where you need it. Dyno results are posted with stock carb and white bros. pipe and after with airforce kit with white bros pipe. I witness these dyno pulls myself, it is strait up. no dyno tricks, ran the stock tires, bike was tested just the way you ride it.

Numbers should be up on the superbike web page by this weekend. Sorry for not being able to disclose the number's but Gary said he will post them. I can assure you when the new cams are ready and some of the other prototype stuff is made available your going to see some reliable 60 to 70 hp @ at the rear wheels. Gary is building a Drag predator that will push a 100hp without a power adder. probly want be running on gas though. and Iuka is only 30 minutes from here. The 630 kit has been scraped, 580 kit replaced it.

They were contracted by Polaris to develop the Predator engine. And yes both engine's were built and tested. And for your information they do have Dyno #'s, but due to contractual obligations with Polaris these number's cannot be disclosed to the public at this time. These engine's will probly show up in the factory bikes and they are not publishing the #'s as of now. I will say gary did post that they had already increased hp by 40%. Nothing fishy just some legal issue's.

Gotta agree with X, with the hotbed of Polaris performance specialty shops right here in Minnesota, I hope this isn't a self labeling sales pitch. I'll BBQ the crow if I'm wrong. At any rate, hope the mods work out for you, and please keep us posted. I'm gonna stick with a long time Polaris performance specialist, HPD. Everyone has choices, hope they all work.
