Modquad, nothing wrong with being sceptical, there are alot of people wanting to take our money and give nothing in return. I would not stand behind any person or company i had not personally visited. I can assure you that Gary is working in the interest of every Polaris owner. We will all benefit from his experience. I think you may be selling him short on not being a development facility. Not to mention any names, but there are some factory rider's running his motor's now. I don;t think he is trying to compete with Pure Polaris, but I bet you see some of his products sold as pure Polaris just like the White bros pipe. Bottom line we the Predator owners will be the winner's of all the research no mater what facility comes up with it. I have no questions the HPD will also push the envelope on the Predator. I will be the first in line to purchase there products also. Gary of superbike is not involved or under contract with Polaris. He did some engine work for Rath for one race. The motor that Rath ran, Rath said it vibrated so much he had his worst finish ever. He actually went back to the stock motor for the next race and placed higher.All bikes and motors were pulled from Gary's shop by Rath and Polaris. TC Racing is doing motor develop for Rath's race predator. Gary does not even have a dyno for ATV'S only cycles that is why numbers are not posted. Tom Carlson of TC Racing has done ATV motors for years. Polaris is more comfortable with that background. Also putting it into "2" bikes does not qualify anything for being tested and ready. He was never contacted by Polaris, Rath had him do some work on his KTM race quad and approached him to try this project. Polaris agreed to give him a try and built one motor for Polaris. Gary can post anything he wants, if he had it as I stated earlier NO contract exsits! Gary is doing exactly what scrambler X said. FISHY FISHY He streching the truth about Polaris to line his pockets. Bad Business!!

jcal, youare exactly right. MODQUAD is a lot more reputable and has posted his finding's on this subject.

 

Hey Guys, Im new to this forum....I'm only 14 but am looking at a quad. What kind of quad would you recommend...Im not very experianced but could easily adapt to bigger engines.

 

Legends, the Predator is the best bang for any buck out there. Lawyer's disclaimer....check local age limits....that doesn't mean I agree with age limits, though.

I can't say anything about the pulling of motors, or any of Rath's doings. Like I said, Gary (who is a nice guy) was hired buy Polaris to see how far the envelope could be pushed....reliably. Period. Jcal might have some other source. The really important issue is that we all work together to see what does, and doesn't work with this machine. I don't want to start a Yamaha shop bashing trend (sorry Yamaha guys, you know it's true). Just to set the record straight I am not saying Gary is a nice guy or not. I also am not stating that his engine mods are good or not. What bothers me is he is way out of line saying he was hired by Polaris. There are alot of companys out there working on Predator products. I know you questioned my sources and my reliabilty but answer this one question. There is ONE factory rider on the Polaris who is Daryl Rath, Rath has been on the Predator project for over three years now. If it is true and Polaris HIRED Gary under contract why would their one and only rider at this time be working with TC Racing to develop his race motors?? Rath doesn't make his engine decisions about his bikes, Polaris does. Anyone you doubts this can call or email Rath he will answer any questions about who is hired by Polaris. It is not the CIA, being under contract with Polaris is not top secret. As I stated earlier Rath contacted Gary not Polaris.

 

JGL, why don;t you contact Gary @ superbike shop, then you can find out the truth for your self. We are all doing alot of talking second hand. Since you made some strong statements about engine's being pulled and so fourth, why don't you call and get the real truth. Nobody has said anything negative about Rath, or HPD. But you have said some negative things about Gary. We are all on the same team here, Lets not give Polaris a black eye. Choose who ever you feel confident with, but don't bash other Poalris supporters. DO YOU EVEN OWN A PREDATOR ?????

He gives the names of the engineer's from polaris that he reports too. This is way I have not posted in these threads before. Everyone believes strongly in "Their guy" and it just turns into a pissing match. I was at Rath's shop picking up some parts from him when the TC Motors were delivered, and of course I asked what was going on and he told me. TC is doing all his motor work. I asked him about Gary and he said yes Gary did some motor work but is not involved in the project any longer at this time. I did not say Gary is developing motors he is, just not for Polaris. SP700RACER you didn't answer the question if Gary is hired why isn't Daryl running his motors? You can get pissed at me if you want, but you wanted me to call Gary, like I said you can also call Daryl and I am sure he will give you a contact at Polaris that will verify everything i have just stated.
