His mind is made up !!!

I had gone through a period of indecision as to which large quad to buy this Spring but now have decided on the 2003 Grizzly. Nothing against Polaris, I have a 2003 800 RMK sled and I think it is fabulous, my neighbour who, by the way has never ridden an ATV has decided to buy a 2004 700 Sportsman and other than the Polaris website I cant tell him anything about that quad other than I think he is making a mistake going so big on his first quad. I dont know if there is much of a difference between the 2003 and the 2004 Sportsman so if anyone has any comments that I can pass on I would appreciate them. He contacted the dealership and of course the salesman will rant and rave about the new 700 but thats his job, selling, my neighbour also gave him my phone number and this salesman called trying to change my mind about buying the Grizzly, I have heard about reliability issues with the 700 Sportsman and thats what has kept me away from considering this ATV. In any event he is heading off to the dealership with his cash in hand and he will have his new quad in his driveway before I get my Grizzly,,,,,,I wish him luck !

It's great to see people can be friends and ride together even though they are loyal to different brands. Besides, it's good to have a friend with a Sportsman so he can pull out your Grizzly when you get stuck.

I wouldn't be concerned about him buying a 700 for his first quad. If it were a racer I would be, but a 700 is very easy to handle for a beginner as long as you don't get stupid right away. I wouldn't put her on a Banshee, but my wife handles my 700 very well. It's like driving an auto trans car with a big motor: if you don't put it to the floor it's just like any other car.
