Does anybody have any tire grooving secrets? Are there any inexpensive tools that work as well as a real tire groover? I want to groove my own turf tamers.

You don't need to buy a special electric tire grooving tool to cut your Turf Tamers! The tool that I use to do it was less than $10 which is what you pay extra per tire when you buy them grooved from Nac's or anywhere else that does it. It is just called a "nipper" from Channel Lock. It is a special pliers with about a 1" cutting surface. It is perfect for removing ***** on Turf Tamers. It does take awhile and some elbow grease but it is better than wasting money.

but make sure you use some white chalk or something like that to premark, otherwise you will waste a hundred dollars in tires.

I think you could use a dremel tool and just grind them off with a bit or something. Heck you could probably even get a sanding bit for a drill and use that.

I have found what I would consider the perfect tool. It is cheap and easy to use. A guy used a old fashioned calf dehorner when he grooved my turf tamers. It was very easy.

I also use the Channelock front cut wire cutters. It takes a while but works awesome.
